Fight Stress & Find Serenity

Introducing: Emilia Carlota, AHC, LMT, RYTS

I recently completed my 200-hour training with Breathe for Change, the only wellness and yoga teacher training designed for educators. Although I am not an educator in the traditional sense, I chose this training because of its emphasis on social-emotional learning, community health and social justice.

I began regularly practicing ashtanga yoga in my hometown of Miami around 2011. Since then, my practice has evolved considerably and continues to deepen every day. My humble intention as a yoga instructor is to share the many gifts and pertinent wisdom that this ancient practice has to offer: self-compassion, awareness, healing, alignment; all while inviting my students to find solace in mindful embodiment and breath.

Yoga is a practice that combines stretching, controlled breathing, and relaxation. Yoga helps reduce stress, lower blood pressure, improve heart function, and calm body, mind, and spirit.

I am a Certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor, Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Yoga Teacher. My specialty is in subtle therapies that work with the mind/body connection through all the systems, organs, tissues, and elements. I have a private practice in Newton, MA.

A native Brazilian who moved to Boston in 2006 and began practicing of yoga there. In 2013/14, I received my 500 hours Yoga Teacher Training certification from YogaWorks and Downunder School of Yoga in Boston, plus a 500 hours studying with Barbara Benaugh “The Art of Teaching Yoga”. I am a graduate in Ayurvedic Health Counseling at Kripalu Center of Yoga and Wellness in Stockbridge MA , while teaching private yoga to Seniors in the Boston area.

I’ve been practicing Ayurvedic Bodywork along with Ayurvedic consultations for 2 years in a private holistic healing practice. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist, a graduate of Elizabeth Grady School of Massage Therapy.

As an Ayurvedic Health Counselor and general holistic health consultant, I provide clients with individually tailored diet, lifestyle and nutrition counseling, yoga therapy, and Ayurvedic bodywork.
